Introduction to Drawing 101

Starting on Monday, October 15th at 5:15 pm

$170 for nine weeks

If you have never drawn before, or feel rusty on your drawing skills, this is the class for you! Students will be taught basic sight reading, handling of media, artistic vocabulary, still life and life drawing, and introduction to perspective. This class is the perfect starting point for all classes in the S.P.Q.R curriculum. Drawing is the backbone for all art making. If you learn how to draw, everything else will become just a little easier. Dip your toe in, test the waters, and see if you like making art.

Introduction to Oil Painting 101

Starting on Monday, October 15th at 7:30 pm

$170 for nine weeks

Have you always been curious about oil painting? This class is definitely for you! Students will be given an introduction to the medium of oil paints, as well as knowledge of how best to utilize it. Basic color mixing will be covered, as well as still life, life painting, and an introduction to art history.

Exploring Through Collage

Starting on Tuesday, October 16th at 5:15 pm

$170 for nine weeks

Students will be introduced to a variety of mediums including found object assemblage, photo cutout, and text play. Students will be provided a safe place to play and explore their creative process. Class will be light, fun and full of curiosity!

Sound Smart at the Museum 201

Starting on Tuesday, October 16th at 7:30 pm

$150 for nine weeks

Are you an artist looking for inspiration? Or somebody who just really appreciates art? Well then join us for this art history class designed to introduce you to the major art makers and movements in western art over the last 700 years. We will learn about the movers and shakers that have shaped the art making process from the 1890’s to the beginning of the 21 century. This will not be a date memorization class, THIS WILL BE FUN!!
